A Weekend Of Firsts.....

Yes, the shearing was wonderful. And you can check out my other blog for more photos.

But this was by far my most favorite part of the entire weekend......Wyatt's first tractor ride.
I don't think I need to say much more......

Thanks Kristin!!!

Not only is my friend Kristin an absolutely lifesaver by OFFERING to take the kids for a couple hours this morning so I can get a huge list of errands run, she is a phenominal photographer!!!!! Here are a few she took of the kids just this morning. If you'd like to see more of her work, check out her Flickr site.

Wyatt's Park Adventure

Justin and I took the kids to the park. It was the first time I actually just let Wyatt go and explore. He was so excited!!!!

First stop....the tunnels:
He made it through okay with a couple of tag-alongs. Then through a bigger tunnel.....
This is what he was met with on the other side.....
scary....I know. ;-) But he ventured on to "the bridge". It looked easy enough...
but that shaky  terrain was kinda weird....
after sitting back and assessing the road ahead.....he ventures on with courage and confidence.....
only to be faced with his finaly end......The Slide......
Hayden did it with no hesitation.......Yvette laughs as she flies to the bottom....
Wyatt? He had to think a little.....
he ended up going down.....again and again and again and again.........such a brave boy. ;-)

We ended the super fast trip to the park with Hayden slipping in the grass. OH WHAT FUN!!!!

Hayden Louis

"Watch this Mom!" .... he's so stinking proud of his riding. He shows everyone who stops by how he can ride his two wheel bike. And he's pretty darn good at it.

Such a handsome boy....just like his dad.

Everyone Needs An Yvette

She sported Wyatt's hat oh so well. Don't you think?

She even talks to her horses....
And then she decided instead of riding her bike.....she should maybe pull it. Cuz she's a cowgirl and that's what they do (apparently). I don't make this stuff up......(she does). I just LOVE playing along...... ;-)
She figured she'd stop working so hard and just pose. I think I was bothering her with the camera. ;-)

Beautiful Day!

We've had insane amounts of rain and a completely unnecessary slew of gloomy days. Yesterday and today have been absolutely wonderful. Nothing gets done inside, but we have so much fun outside. I hope and pray this stays for a little while longer.

Last night Wyatt sarinaded us at all hours of the night. Needless to say we (John, Justin, and I) were NOT happy with him. I don't think either of us got more than 2-3 hours of sleep. ANYWAY, all that resentment (I know....silly right?....resenting a baby.....) melted away when I found him like this......:

Is he not the cutest kid ever?! I mean, the cross-eyed-drool-dripping hat tip is priceless!! Who does that?!!!

And then of course there is Yvette. I sat there with the camera wanting a cute smile as she plays. "Yvette, can you please look at mom and smile?" The response, "CHEESE!" as she continues to look at what she was doing. No hint of any possibility of looking at me. "Yvette, please show me a pretty smile." "MOM, I'm busy." Enough said. I'll take what I can get. Wasn't going to ruin the moment with a power trip and lecture on following directions. We had fun anyway. ;-)

Hayden. He was just so excited to be outside he just had to hit something. Really?, he is such a boy. Shovel in hand and a couple practice wind ups, he decides the tree branches were going to be his victims. I don't think they minded. It was actually funny to watch.

Justin And Megan Meet The Alpacas

Hayden and Yvette are so proud....

Alpaca Love....

They have made so much progress! They now greet us at the fence when we come out of the house. They'll follow us around. They aren't as skiddish as they were in the beginning. And when we crouch down to kid level, they come right up to us and touch our nose. Alpacas "greet" eachother by touching noses. They'll go right up to the kids without hesitation. It has been really fantastic having these guys. Stay tuned the next couple weeks......we are having them shorn on May 21st. That should be interesting.......;-)

Update...

I think the day I took this picture of Yvette, we sang Happy Birthday a hundred times to every single person we knew.....even the alpacas, the bouncy ball in the background, the spider in the window. Yup.....everyone had birthday cake that day. She was so proud.
And Hayden.....John took training wheels off and he zipped right on down the driveway. He literally rides circle around us because he "has to practice turning". Yeah, he's a show off. But a pretty darn cute one, I'd say.
